I am all excited to share a new recipe that i recently tried and was such a delight to eat.It was a complete rainy day and so cold outside that i did not bother to step out of house. It was a pain to watch people all drenched in rain, trying their best to hold the umbrella against the wind as it was too windy with heavy rain.I was done watching people from my window and wanted to really munch on something hot and spicy . What better can we think of than a pakora. Now this is a pakora which is not with onions but with Potatoes and spinach..Sounds Different huh? YES it does and TRUST ME it tastes good too!!!!
Lets jump straight into the Ingredients and method.
Ingredients Required Really Really simple. (Serves 3 people)
3 Potatoes chopped to small pieces
1 cup Spinach roughly
1 inch Ginger Finely chopped
Coriander finely chopped
1 cup Besan/ gram flour
1/4 cup of riceflour or cornflour
2 tsp Chilli powder
Pinch of Asafoetida
Salt as per taste.
Method.
In a bowl Add Gram flour, rice flour,Spinach, Potatoes chopped,Ginger chopped, asafoetida, chilli powder, coriander and salt to taste and mix them well with just a little bit of water.Make sure that spinach are roughly chopped as they will get more crispy.Batter should be of consistency of pakora , Not very watery.
Heat oil to medium hot and drop them like dumplings.Remove them when they are golden brown.Enjoy them Hot with anything you want.
By the way i like mine with some Ketchup and followed by a cup of tea.
